Summer
Summer is arriving this week after probably our last good rain of the spring. I encourage folks to wait until fall to plant at this point since our summers are often so dry. If you do plant try to plant them in the evening and make sure to water deeply. Shade plants are easier to plant this time of year since they are protected from our intense afternoon summer sun

THistles are often thought of a bad and Canada thistle is a noxious weed but this bumblebee is feeding on our native edible thistle which is a good guy and a valuable pollinator plant.
